VCs Cough Up $100M for Cybersecurity Startup Illumio

Illumio, a 2-year-old cybersecurity startup, last week announced it had
raised $100 million in a Series C round of financing, bringing its total
funding over the past 27 months to more than $142 million. Illumio will
use the fresh funds to meet demand for its Adaptive Security Platform
software, to invest in R&D, to grow sales and marketing efforts, and to
fuel international expansion.

Reports: Federal IT Managers Should Look Forward, Not Back

The dynamic world of information technology calls for a future-oriented
approach to IT management. However, government agencies too often may be
looking backward rather than forward with respect to how they operate IT
systems, especially when it comes to investing huge sums of taxpayer
money into those resources. Two recent assessments of government IT make
the point.

Google Unleashes Mobilegeddon on Unprepared Websites

Google on Tuesday initiated changes to its search algorithm to address
increased use of mobile devices, and there is about a week left before
the full impact of its new metric is felt in full. Due to its ability to
seriously hurt the revenues of small and mid-sized sites, the change is
being referred to as "Mobilegeddon." About 60 percent of all Web traffic
arrives on the wheels of mobile devices.
