Mick Schumacher, le fils du septuple champion du monde de Formule 1, Michael Schumacher, a signé un contrat au sein de l'équipe Van Amersfoort Racing pour disputer la saison prochaine la nouvelle classe ADAC Formule 4, a annoncé le team néerlandais lundi.

Frits van Amersfoort est connu pour dénicher et développer de jeunes pilotes talentueux. Ainsi Max Verstappen avait fait ses débuts sous ses couleurs en Formule 3 l'an dernier. Le jeune néerlandais, 17 ans, avait été repéré pour suivre le programme de formation de Red Bull, effectuant ses débuts en Formule 1 cette saison avec Toro Rosso.

Comme son père, Mick Schumacher, 15 ans, a fait ses classes dans le karting, terminant notamment deuxième du championnat d'Allemagne pour juniors la saison dernière.
